Cancer Fight gets a helping hand from Joanne Truong & NQT Sydney
On the weekend of the 4th and 5th of June, 2011 Joanne Truong, a tutor with NQT Sydney organised an Australia's Biggest Morning Tea event (www.biggestmorningtea.com.au) to help raise funds and awareness for cancer research and patient care.
Joining the thousands of other Australians in the fight against cancer this year, Joanne as the principal organiser along with the management and staff of Nam-Quang Tuition Sydney came together to coordinate and promote the event. The event was held at NQT Bankstown and NQT Cabramatta and was deemed to be a great success.
Joanne explained, "As the host and organiser, it was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to host this event with the help and support of the supervisors and fellow staff members at NQT. Thank you to the many donors who generously helped the Cancer Council, and a big thank you to Mr. Quang Nguyen, Managing Director of NQT Australia for matching dollar-for-dollar, the funds raised at the event."
The money raised will be donated to the Cancer Council, a national non-government cancer control organisation. The donations will help the Cancer Council fund research into the causes of cancer, discover new and improved treatments, help educate health professionals, support patients and carers, provide SunSmart educational talks to schools and community groups and much more.
From the whole NQT Australia family, a big thank you must go to Joanne, for her tireless efforts as the event coordinator but also for being a great role model for other members of the NQT team, the NQT student population and the community at large. Well done!
