Nam-Quang Tuition launches Online English Courses in Vietnam

01 March 2009

For the first time ever in Vietnam, university students have the opportunity to study English affordably in an online environment thanks to NQETS Vietnam and NSW AMES.

To celebrate the official launch of the NSW AMES Online English Courses as studied by the students at Vietnam National University (VNU), NQETS held a large press conference at the university in Ho Chi Minh City on November 26 2009.

The launch was attended by dignitaries such as the Vice Consul General for Australia, VNU officials and NSW AMES representatives, Helen DeSilva Joyce (Director) and Loy Chee Tan (Business Development Manager). The wide scale launch was also attended by NQETS staff as well as some 300 students currently completing some of the online English courses on offer.

Throughout the morning, attendees were treated to a traditional Vietnamese dance performance, as well as speeches from representatives from NQT, NSW AMES and VNU. A cheque for $US2000 was also presented to VNU to turn an existing garden into a “wifi hot spot garden” for students. The money will be put towards providing wireless Internet capabilities and landscaping the gardens so students can study English online in an attractive and peaceful environment.

Nam Hong Nguyen, Managing Director of NQT, proclaimed the launch a success.

“We want to spread the word about online learning in Vietnam, where we’re making English affordable in a virtual classroom.”

The courses are designed to cater for students of varying ability to help them hone practical English skills in a fun and interactive environment. Students have the chance to study both general English and English for specific contexts, such as Business English or English for the workplace.
